Visual Literacy

Year 2 has started their Visual Literacy Unit. We are studying the book, Fox by Margaret Wild. Today we looked at the cover and discussed what we know about foxes. To do this we worked in cooperative groups. Each student was given an opportunity to contribute to the mind map. The leaders reported the ideas to the whole year group.

The students were introduced to the term salient point which is also called the focal point. 

We looked at the endpapers. 

Students predicted what the book may be about.

Next week the students will be asked to research FOXES at home.

Students will create a small poster about foxes. They will be given the paper to create the poster. When they bring the poster to school, the students will be required to speak about what they have learned.
