School Life in the Past

Year 1 and 2 experienced life in the past. The school day began with handwriting, rote maths and an interrupted role call by the Headmaster. Then we played some games from the past that truely were a blast!

Creating Who am I?

Year 2 has been reading a fabulous book...

We have studied some of the amazing animals that are dwellers in the Tuart.
Today we created clues to see who could guess the name of the animal we were describing.
It was fun trying to guess.

I am small and light.
I am a little out of sight.
I live on the tuart trees.
I am not an animal.
I am an insect.
I am the longest animal in the world.
You are going to need to look very carefully.
I have six legs.
Who am I?
Chase.

I glide above the tuart trees.
i am the colour of a cloud and a thunder cloud.
My babies come in eggs.
I am a carnivore and eat other critters.
I screech in the morning.
Who am I?

Science - Flood in a tray

This afternoon we participated in a science experiment where we watched what would happen to the houses and surrounding in a flood situation. It was interesting to see that as the water rose the houses closest would be affected first. However when there was strong rain on top of the hill then the dirt eroded, the house foundations became less stable and it resulted in a landslide. We discussed how polluted the water would become as a result of heavy flooding.
