Stage 1 - HIGE Presentation

Today the parents, relatives and friends of the Stage 1 students came for a Gallery Walk.
The students have been studying, "My Place in Space". They each considered their own special place. They had to think about where it is, how do you get there, what you can do there and why they are connected to that place.
Each student chose whether they wanted to present their work as a google slide, a popplet, a poster or a brochure. Students presented their work orally today using their own presentation as a guide.
Here are some photos of the experience.

Science Assessment

The students were asked to create a room that would have materials in it that would help to reduce the noise. They needed to choose the correct materials and create their room in a tote tray.

The materials that they used were black paper for concrete, printed paper for carpet, alfoil for metal, MAB blocks for wood, multi - link cubes for bricks, blue paper for glass, foam pieces for foam and green paper for fabric.

The students worked in pairs to create their rooms. Tomorrow they will present their creations to the class. They really loved this creative and thoughtful activity putting their learning to the test.

The Phasmid

Today in Library we looked at the Information Book - The Phasmid.

The students learnt a great deal from this book and were able to answer many multiple choice questions.

They also made a phasmid out of pipe cleaners.

Mrs Tasker led a very interesting and informative discussion.
