Assembly Item

Year 2 will be performing an item at the K-6 assembly tomorrow. Each child has been asked to bring sporting clothes to change into at school (E.g. soccer uniform, gymnastics clothes, tennis uniform or play clothes if not part of a team). We would love it if you could come and watch our performance in the PAC. Assembly will begin at 11am.

Literacy

This week for literacy we looked at Animalia by Graeme Base and had a go at making our own sentences using alliteration. Here are a few examples of what we came up with:
- Terrific trains travelling to Tasmania by Lachlan
- Fierce flies flying to flowers by Kyan
- Tiny tigers tiptoe tirelessly to the toilet by Mahalia

Families - Past and Present

Our History topic for this term is Families Past and Present. We have been looking at Women in the past in Library and today we discussed the roles of women. Each group was given a number of photographs and needed to sort them into two groups those of the past and those of the present. Many discussions were taking place.

Using Technology

Year 2 has been studying the book Animalia By Graeme Base. It is full of alliteration for every letter of the alphabet.

Today we investigated the alliteration and the sentences. In pairs the students typed out a sentence, picked out the verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs and colour coded them.

Then the students enlarged the font and added a picture.
All this was completed in google docs.
