Learning about the Past and Writing Information Reports

Year 2 has enjoyed another productive day of learning.

Two really interesting lessons were our Writing Lesson and our History Lesson.

We explored texts that had been written by other students to see exactly what was in an Information Report.
Then we broke up a report into the different categories.
Next week we will write our own paragraphs about a Ulysses Butterfly.

In History we have been studying the History of our Local Area.
We looked at how the access to the area has changed over time. We were particularly looking at the punt that went across the Georges River and how it was replaced by the Alfords Point Bridge.
We drew these aspects on a map and labeled it past and present using a coloured key.
Then we made a punt to add to our work about the disadvantages of a punt and why the bridge was necessary.
