Looking at Money
This week Year 2 investigated money from foreign countries. It was amazing to see the similarities and differences! When we looked closely we realised how detailed money really is. We noticed that New Zealand coins have a picture of Queen Elizabeth on them just like our Australian coins. In Australia we use dollars and cents but we found out that other countries like Thailand use baht and France use euros. Our Australian notes are made of plastic however American notes are made of paper. We also looked closely at our coat of arms which is found on the 50c coin and compared it to the Singaporean coat of arms which include a lion and a tiger.

Currency and Science Materials
Tomorrow we will be comparing Australian currency with that of other countries. If you have any currency from other countries then please send it to school with your child in tomorrow.
We are also making instruments to investigate sound during Science tomorrow. Remember to bring in an empty tissue box and cylindrical roll.
