Getting straight back into it

This week Year 2 started our new literacy unit by making predictions and checking them after reading Where The Forest Meets The Sea by Jeanie Baker. We found some faint pictures of dinosaurs, possums and Aboriginal children in each of the pictures. Ask your child to explain why they were only drawn as faint outlines in each of the pages.

Investigating a Sunflower Plant

One of our beautiful parents brought in a sunflower plant for us to dissect.
We loved it.
Here we are looking at the parts of the plant. We even found a lady beetle on a leaf.
We found the seeds which we will plant next term.

Toys painted

Today the announcement of the toy that won the design was announced.

It was a train. There was also a pull apart spider that was thought to be amazing and so the spider design was added to the train.

Several groups were created and the students moved around to enjoy.

Painting the toys.

Investigating the 3D printer which can be used to make toys.

Looking at the woodworking room.

We raised $458 to send the toys to Uganda. What a fabulous Fundraising Event that we had - Funny Sock Day - a real winner.
